2025년 아시아 국제 교류 사진진이 더레퍼런스에서 열립니다.

현실처럼 보이지만 어딘가 낯선 이미지들.
그 표면 아래 감춰진 균열과 흔들리는 감각을 들여다봅니다.

사진은 이제 단순한 기록이 아닙니다.
우리가 현실을 어떻게 보고, 어떻게 의심할지를 되묻는 감각의 장치가 되었죠.

한국과 일본의 네 작가가 참여한 이번 전시는
디지털 조작, 기술 개입, 기억의 오브제 등
확장된 사진의 언어를 탐색합니다.
동시에, 전통 다큐멘터리 사진이 지닌 ‘기록의 힘’도 함께 보여줍니다.

이미지를 흔들고 다시 구성하는 작업 속에서 묻습니다.
“사진은 무엇을 담고 있으며, 어떻게 존재하는가?”

믿음과 의심 사이,
사진은 여전히 현실을 가장 예민하게 비추는 매체라는 환상의 장막을 걷고
초현실같은 진짜 현실의 사진 세계를 경험하시기 바랍니다.

The Reference presents its first international Asia photography exchange exhibition of 2025.

They are images that resemble reality, yet feel strangely unfamiliar.
We look beneath their surfaces to uncover fractures and unstable sensations.

Photography is no longer a simple act of documentation.
It has become a device for sensing—one that prompts us to question how we perceive and doubt reality.

Featuring four artists from Korea and Japan,
this exhibition explores the expanded language of photography: digital manipulation, technological intervention, and memory-laden objects. At the same time, it also sheds light on the enduring power of documentary photography as a record.

Through works that destabilize and reconfigure the image, we ask: What does a photograph capture, and how does it exist?

Between belief and doubt,
photography lifts the veil of illusion that casts it as the most sensitive mirror of reality—inviting us into a photographic world of surreal yet real images.
