박아람은 마음에 드는 책의 페이지를 색색의 책갈피로 표시해가듯 색을 행렬의 색인으로 사용하는 질서를 고안하여 그림을 그린다. 이번에 선보이는 Blue, Blue 는 하늘처럼 끝없이 펼쳐지는 면을 개설하거나 면이 펼쳐지기 이전을 그린다. 전시 중 발간하는 책은 이를 또 다른 형식으로 풀어낸다.

박아람은 퍼포먼스, 조각, 설치 등 회화 이외의 매체를 통해, 회화의 외연을 넓히거나 그 원관념을 상기하는 작업을 해왔다. 작업에 앞서 매체를 불문하고 표나 스코어 등을 작성하는 오랜 습관을 바탕으로 최근에는 회화 작업에 주력해왔으며, 특유의 원근법을 통해 등록 불가능한 시공을 그린다.

Aram Park devises a system in which colors function as indices in a matrix, much like marking favorite pages in a book with colorful bookmarks, and uses this order to create her paintings. The current exhibition, Blue, Blue, depicts expanses that stretch endlessly like the sky, or moments before such expanses unfold. A book published during the exhibition presents this concept in an alternative form.

Rahm Parc

Through performance, sculpture, installation, and other non-painting media, Aram Park has expanded the scope of painting or revisited its fundamental ideas. Regardless of medium, she maintains a long-standing habit of creating tables or scores before starting her work. Recently, she has focused primarily on painting, rendering unregistrable spaces and times through her distinctive perspective.

Her solo exhibitions include Times (Kumho Museum of Art, Seoul, 2020), Roll & Map: 2008–2019 (Incheon Art Platform, Incheon, 2019), A Portrait (Weekend, Seoul, 2017), Mass Form (Gallery M, Seoul, 2016), and Magnet Trap Survey (Cake Gallery, Seoul, 2014). She has also held projects such as Project Call (0-2-1-3.xyz, 2020–2021), Performance Call (National Asian Culture Complex, Gwangju, 2019), Call (Boan Bookstore, Seoul, 2017), and Drawing Practice (2014–2016).
