아름다운 선과 따듯한 색감의 일러스레이터로 알려진 손정민 작가의 개인전 《Tenderness: For the People I care and love⟫가 8월 5일(목)부터 더레퍼런스에서 열린다.
손정민은 식물과 사람, 그리고 따뜻함을 그린다. 그녀 특유의 은은하고 여백미 있는 그림체 작품은 드로잉부터, 세라믹 오브제, 모빌 등 입체 작업까지 다양하게 전개된다. Tenderness라는 뜻처럼 일상의 호기심과 애정 어린 시선이 담아낸 작품 속 얼굴들의 담백, 소소한 제스처를 엿볼 수 있는 매우 매력적인 전시이다.

『Vogue』, 『Elle』, 『Harper’s Bazaar』, 『Magazine B』, 『Avenuel』, 『Nylon』, 『Elle Décor』, 『Marriage Elle Japan』 등 잡지의 에디토리얼 일러스트레이션을 비롯하여 유니클로, YSL, 로레알, 루이비통, 라로슈포제, 아벤느, 록시땅, 맨온더분, 빈폴, 프린트베이커리, 데이즈 등 브랜드와 협업해왔다. 출판물로 『식물 그리고 사람』(미메시스, 2018)가 있으며 『여우 이야기』 (문학판, 2018), 『O! House』 (오늘의 집 브랜드북, MagazineB, 2021) 삽화를 그렸다. 개인전 《Things make us smile》 (mu.mokjeok, 2019), 그룹전 《Draw a day》(Space B-E, 2018), 《여름조각展》(Areaplus, 2019), 《물[物]의 정원》 (KKOTSSUL, 2020), 《그림도시 S#5 Waypoint:서울》(세종문화예술회관 미술관, 2020)에 참여한 바 있다.
Illustrator Son Jungmin, known for her beautiful lines and warm color palette, will hold a solo exhibition, Tenderness: For the People I Care and Love, at The Reference from Thursday, August 5.
Son Jungmin depicts plants, people, and warmth. Her works, characterized by a subtle, spacious style, extend across drawing, ceramic objects, and mobiles. True to the meaning of Tenderness, the exhibition offers a charming glimpse into the unadorned faces and small gestures captured through her attentive, affectionate perspective on everyday life.

She has created editorial illustrations for magazines such as Vogue, Elle, Harper’s Bazaar, Magazine B, Avenuel, Nylon, Elle Décor, and Marriage Elle Japan, and collaborated with brands including Uniqlo, YSL, L’Oréal, Louis Vuitton, La Roche-Posay, Avène, L’Occitane, Man on the Boon, Beanpole, Print Bakery, and Days. Her publications include Plants and People (Mimesis, 2018), and she illustrated The Fox Story (Munhakpan, 2018) and O! House (Magazine B, 2021). She has held a solo exhibition Things Make Us Smile (mu.mokjeok, 2019) and participated in group exhibitions including Draw a Day (Space B-E, 2018), Summer Sculpture (Areaplus, 2019), Garden of Things (KKOTSSUL, 2020), and Picture City S#5 Waypoint: Seoul (Sejong Center Museum of Art, 2020).
