현미진은 예술인 것과 예술이 아닌 것의 경계에서 끊임없이 질문을 던진다. 이번 전시에서 그는 '전시장' 자체에 집중하며 그 안에서 벌어지는 필연적이고 우연적인 사건들을 관찰한다.
작가는 '전시'를 예술가의 사유를 통한 창작의 결과물인 '작품'을 감상하는 것으로 정의하기보다는 예술적 맥락에서 강력하게 보증받은 '장소'로서의 전시장을 이야기한다. 전형적인 형식의 전시 공간을 구성하고 그 안에 적절하게 배치된 대상들과 그것을 경험하는 이들까지 구성원으로 포함하여 이 전시를 구성한다.

현미진은 전시공간을 미학적 측면만이 아닌 사회 ∙ 정치적인 공간으로 바라보고 그가 설정한 상황 속으로 들어오는 관객의 반응을 관찰한다. 그의 작업에서 이루어지는 인터랙션은 그 과정과 그것을 야기하는 또 다른 상황에 중점을 둔다. 또한, 전시에서 작품에 초점을 맞추기보다는 관객을 퍼포머로 구성하고, 이를 중심으로 전시가 진행되는 작업을 한다. 개인전 《Double Collision》(Turba gallery, 독일 하노버 2018), 《Intervention》(City gallery, 독일 볼프스 부르크 2018)에서 개인전을 하였고, 《Too much power (Too little power)》(쿤스트페어아인 볼프스부르크, 독일2021) ,《Hörproben》(쿤스트라움 Tosterglope, 독일 2020), 《IN SITU》(쿤스트페스티벌 쿤스트페어아인 die Halle, 독일 브라운슈바익, 2018) 등에서 전시하였다.
Mijin Hyun constantly poses questions at the boundary between what is considered art and what is not. In this exhibition, he focuses on the ‘exhibition space’ itself, observing the inevitable and accidental events that occur within it.
Rather than defining an ‘exhibition’ as the act of viewing a ‘work’—a result of the artist’s creative thinking—Hyun frames the exhibition space as a ‘place’ strongly validated within an artistic context. He constructs a conventional exhibition space and organizes the objects within it, while also including the participants experiencing the space as integral components of the exhibition.

Hyun views exhibition spaces not only from an aesthetic perspective but also as social and political environments, observing how audiences respond within the situations he sets. The interactions in his work focus on both the process itself and the circumstances that generate it. Rather than centering on the artwork, he often positions the audience as performers, structuring the exhibition around this engagement. He has held solo exhibitions including Double Collision (Turba Gallery, Hanover, Germany, 2018) and Intervention (City Gallery, Wolfsburg, Germany, 2018), and participated in group exhibitions such as Too much power (Too little power) (Kunstverein Wolfsburg, Germany, 2021), Hörproben (Kunstraum Tosterglope, Germany, 2020), and IN SITU (Kunstfestival Kunstverein die Halle, Braunschweig, Germany, 2018).
